Daniel Hirsty is an associate for the Broadmark Family of Funds and monitors the portfolio’s performance, conducts market research, and oversees the disposition of the lending funds’ real estate owned assets. Mr. Hirsty also works for Broadmark Capital, LLC supporting Joe Schocken and Adam Fountain in the firm’s merchant banking activities, including angel investor transactions and real estate equity syndications.
Born and raised in greater Los Angeles, Daniel moved to Seattle to attend the University of Washington where he studied Political Economy with minors in History and Philosophy. After taking a gap year to backpack in Asia, Daniel received his Master’s in Professional Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin. Upon graduation, he moved to Houston, TX, to work for BHP Billiton in a finance rotational program. Much of Mr. Hirsty’s experience at BHP was in an FP&A role, supporting the petroleum division through the 2015 oil price collapse.
Mr. Hirsty holds Series 7 & 63 FINRA registrations, is a Certified Public Accountant, and is a CFA charter holder. In his spare time he enjoys cooking, hiking, traveling, and reading.
